Nothing is wrong. So what’s missing?

You don’t have a competence problem. You’re capable. You can make decisions. You can drive results. You can carry pressure.

That’s not the issue. The issue is this: You’re operating alone.

Sometimes that looks like focusing on everyone else.

Meeting their expectations.

Solving their problems.

Carrying the weight.

Sometimes it looks like focusing only on yourself.

Grinding.

Pushing.

Proving.

Either way…

You’re alone in the equation. And operating alone is inefficient.

It caps your leadership.

It limits your influence.

It reduces your impact.

Because leadership isn’t about choosing me or you. It’s about building both.

But if you’ve spent years being the strong one, the capable one, the responsible one…

Collaboration can quietly turn into self-erasure. Or over-control.

Neither scales.

This Wednesday at noon, I’m teaching a live session on how high performers drift into operating alone and how to lead in a way that expands influence instead of capping it.

This isn’t about more competence. It’s about shifting how you operate so your leadership has more energy, more meaning, and more impact.

If you’re strong but feel like something is constricted, this is for you.

I’d love to see you there!

In your corner,
Allison

What your planning style is really saying
It’s not about the plan.   No plan says, "If I stay easy and adaptable, I’ll be needed." So I adjust. I accommodate. I don’t say what I want.   All plan says, "I don’t trust this will get done unless I do it." So I decide. I move. I don’t really bring people in.   Different strategies. Same outcome.   I carry it.   Alone.   Here’s what I had to see.   If I’m doing it alone, it’s NOT leadership....
The leadership habit no one talks about
There’s a pattern I see in high-functioning leaders. It sounds like this: “I’ll just do it.” “It’s fine.” “I’ve got it.”   So we step in. And it works. Until it doesn’t.   It shows up in small ways.   Picking up the garbage and feeling annoyed. Reworking your schedule and thinking, must be nice. Saying yes, then wondering why no one else did. Trying to convince instead of asking. Doing it yours...
The hidden ways we make ourselves hard to work with
Most leaders I work with are not hard to work with.   They are thoughtful. Committed. They care.   But underneath, there is often a quiet belief:   I am not quite enough.   That belief shapes how we show up.   We dismiss compliments but hold onto criticism. We downplay what is working and focus on what is not. We adjust ourselves depending on who is in the room. We hold back what we really thin...
